Streamline Your Baby Registry: Skip These 10 Items and Save Time, Money, and Space!
10 Baby Items You Don’t Need on Your Registry
Are you a new parent-to-be looking to streamline your baby registry? Look no further! While there are countless must-have baby items that will make your life easier, there are also plenty of unnecessary items that will just clutter your home and empty your wallet. In this post, we’ll reveal the top 10 items that you can skip on your registry to streamline your shopping process and ensure you have everything you need for your little one. By cutting out these items, you’ll have more time, money, and space to devote to the things that really matter. So let’s get started!
- Baby towels with hood
While cute, baby towels with hoods are not essential. A regular towel will do just fine, and you can use it for years to come. Plus, hoods can get in the way and make it harder to dry your baby’s head properly. Use a regular towel, and if you want bonus points, warm it up in the dryer for a few minutes to make it nice and warm when baby comes out of a both! - Bottle warmer
Bottle warmers can be convenient, but they’re not necessary. You can warm a bottle by running it under warm water or using a bottle warmer bag. Save your money and skip this item. We have really hot water from the kitchen sink so we let the bottle of milk sit in the red solo cup and that warms the bottle up in a few minutes! - Silicone Dishes with Sticky Bottom
Silicone dishes with a sticky bottom can be helpful, but they’re not a must-have. Regular dishes work just as well, and they’re often more durable. Plus, some babies find the sticky bottom distracting and may try to peel it off. - Cloth diapers
Cloth diapers are a personal choice, but they’re not necessary. If you do decide to use them, you can buy them later on, after you’ve had a chance to see if they’re right for you and your baby. - Newborn mittens
Newborn mittens are cute, but they’re not essential. In fact, they can actually be a hindrance, as babies need to use their hands to explore and develop their motor skills. - Pajamas with snap closures
Pajamas with snap closures can be convenient, but they’re not necessary. In fact, some parents find them more difficult to use than regular pajamas. Stick with what works for you and your baby. Always get the pajamas with the zippers! Here are some of our favorites. - Wipe warmer
Wipe warmers can be nice, but they’re not essential. Your baby will be just fine with room-temperature wipes. - Newborn-sized clothes
Newborn-sized clothes are cute, but they’re not necessary. Babies grow quickly, and your little one may only wear them for a few weeks. It’s better to focus on buying clothes in larger sizes that your baby can wear for longer. - Baby shoes (for at least 9 months)
Baby shoes are adorable, but they’re not necessary until your baby is walking. In fact, shoes can hinder your baby’s development by preventing them from feeling the ground and using their toes to grip and balance. We used these slippers for the colder months, so cute and easy to use for your growing baby! - Formula mixer
Formula mixers can be helpful, but they’re not necessary. You can mix the formula by hand or use a regular blender. We would take the powder and mix with water and shake the bottle up, neither babies had issues, but that’s what worked for us!
Like many people, Amazon is always a great tool to use. Check out my list of items that we use from Amazon currently for our children (4 year old and 1-1/2 year old!) Some items might surprise you but don’t knock it until you try it!
